Microsoft® Windows® XP Promotional Direct-Response Mailer
A direct-mail promotion aimed at creating excitement and generating
sales for Microsoft Windows XP Professional. The promotion, accompanied
by an actual remote-control racecar to represent the XP’s sleek
performance, positioned the new software as an indispensable tool in
companies’ efforts to improve productivity, boost efficiency and
streamline operations. A brochure-only version garnered an impressive
2.5% response rate. |

ADP Home Page
“Flash” Presentation
This
multi-media “flash” presentation was developed by a design firm I work
with to showcase ADP’s new Internet-based web portal, called Home Page.
Designed to accompany an ADP sales person on a prospect visit, or for
use as a stand-alone presentation, this brief, engaging overview was a
big hit and the first of several I wrote.

Morgan Stanley Variable Annuity Campaign
This multi-part campaign, including a tagline (Variable Annuities:
The Benefits are Black and White) a series of direct-mail client
brochures (two of which are pictured here) and a slim-jim brochure, was
designed to boost sales of variable annuities. The plan was to develop a
campaign that would highlight in simple English the numerous, and often
overlooked, benefits of variable annuities. The project received rave
reviews from Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors.

NaviSys White Paper
I was asked to edit this white paper drafted by a top executive of
NaviSys, a provider of technology services to life insurance companies.
Titled “Streamlining the New Business Process,” the paper advised
insurance companies on steps to take to change their business models in
order to gain a competitive advantage. |

OnMoney.com Executive Speech
This speech was written at the peak of dot.com mania for the head of an
online service, OnMoney.com, which provided financial tools and
information as well as allowed customers to aggregate all their
financial holdings in one central location. |

ADP ProxyEdge® Advertisement
This ad for an ADP proxy voting service, known as ProxyEdge, makes
clever use of the universal symbol of healing—chicken soup—to sell the
benefits of the service and take a few jabs at the alternative, known as
vote agents. I wrote the copy for this ad, the concept for which was
supplied to me.

Citicorp “bizzed.com” Fact Sheet
This fact sheet was intended to introduce Citibank’s new retail
online banking and financial services site, called bizzed.com. I didn’t
come up with the name, which I am certain explains why the service was
later phased out and folded into the company’s umbrella banking
services. |

Article
I was hired to ghostwrite this article for one of the company’s head
honchos in its private equity capital department. The title of the
article, which appeared in Directorship magazine, was “Matching
Entrepreneurial Companies with Outside Directors.”
